Local Level Politics

What is the best way to send your husband off to a township meeting?

"Give 'em Hell, Honey!"

If we don't put a stop to the spending and taxing at the Local level, how can we expect to get it stopped at the State or Federal level? If we can get the cities and counties to stop drinking the Kool-Aid, we have a fighting chance to send principled individuals up the political ladder.

Corruption starts at the bottom and works it's way up.

Two Evils and No One Else to Save Us

The Republican and Democrat choices for Governor in Ohio have no real sense of the Constitution or Liberty.
John Kasich may be a "financial" conservative, but he has proven himself to be anti-2nd Amendment and seems to be trying to vie for the illegal immigrant vote. (ACORN is alive and well in Ohio and they have no problem getting the illegals and the dead registered to vote.) He travels the state talking about bringing "JOBS" back to Ohio. What jobs, John? Shovel-ready union jobs? Tax credit to businesses for hiring immigrants jobs? Do you plan on being a one man repeal of NAFTA? Come on, John, let's have a few specifics, if you don't mind, on what EXACTLY you are going to do to "Create or Save" these miracle jobs! Hey, how about answering some questions on your stance on Illegal Immigration. Oh, I forgot, those two words are taboo for politicians at this time.
Ted Strickland has managed to bankrupt the state by accepting every dime of Obamacash he can get in his hands. He has made sure Ohio will be a Welfare State well in to my great-grandchildren's lifetime. Having learned about "Trickle Down Economics" in school (when they still taught something other than social justice, class envy and communism), as the state goes into federal receivership, so go the cities. Have you seen the news about Harrisburg, PA? Ted is pro-2nd Amendment, for now. I don't trust him to keep that stance, if the White House puts any pressure on him, at all. We already have one of the highest tax rates in the country and we owe a ton to the feds. Our payment book comes due next year and we can't pay a penny of it back. Thanks, Ted.
So, should I take a look at our Libertarian candidate? He won't answer any questions on the immigration issue. He doesn't seem to have any clear-cut ideas on jobs, either.
Once again, it is just time for political promises that create good sound bites. There is no one to give us real answers to our real problems. We need people in government to abolish regulations that are stunting the growth of business. There are plenty of entrepreneurs with great ideas, but regulations and taxes are keeping them from Ohio. Detroit is beginning to see inner city farms selling their produce to restaurants, clothing designers and artists selling their wares at little street flea markets. These people are making enough money to fund the opening of clubs and more restaurants. Capitalism at it's finest. We can also have this, if we get the government out of our backyards. Watch this little documentary and ask yourself why can't we bring these people just a little farther south.
